[D6, EE] Animal shelter shift (open)

Bea headed to the animal shelter to take a shift caring for the animals, after the visit to the kids at the community center.

She was in good spirits. She'd said what she'd hoped to say. She thought some of them had listened. And it had been so nice to see her fellow contestants giving it their all, too.

She started with the donkeys and horses, brushing them, and checking their feet and ears. She refreshed their food and water. She chatted with them about how they were feeling, the events of the day, and their stories.

One donkey told his story with her. He had worked hard and then been abandoned because of his injured leg. But it was healed. He felt better! He liked to be useful if anyone wanted a donkey to help them. He liked people if anyone wanted a gentle pet. He liked scritches to his ears and brushing and not being terribly horribly hungry like he was before he was brought to the sanctuary. But he was not so thin anymore! He was fluffy and fine. Look! Look!

Bea hugged him. He would find his family-to-be soon.
