Game Premise

It is the year 2032, over the last twenty years, a massive change has enveloped the glove starting with the emergence of human beings with exceptional often impossible abilities. These humans have become known as Elites, and have changed the trajectory of world politics, society, and the natural world in dramatic ways.

The rest of humanity often referred to as baselines, a slang that has caught on into the general populace, has watched these Elites terraform the Sahara into the world’s breadbasket; clean the oceans, topple dangerous regimes, and shift world politics. An Initiative started by the UN in 2014 has blossomed into the UNJE one of the most powerful world international agencies on the planet, generating wealth from numerous patents and their work with UNJE Elites around the globe. First among these is the team known as the Justice Elite, one part superhero team, another part soft power initiative to expand UN power around the globe.

Elites can often sell their brand and find sponsorships with corporations or governments that want their services; as long as they are marketable and willing to abide by their contracts. Despite the easy path to wealth and influence not all Elites take that route, some, especially those that associate with the Pantheon Network, a world recognized terror group, believe that each Elite is a nation unto themselves and should not be bound by the baseline rules and morals that constrain humanity. They see themselves as no longer human, they are something more and should create their own destiny instead of just serving the whims of baseline humanity and fixing the problems that baselines created in the first place.

With this all in the backdrop, the game will take place in the beautiful Ethiopian city of Mudaba Adin, a coastal paradise that has benefitted from the UNJE efforts. It is a cosmopolitan metropolis running on clean power, beautiful beaches, and a cultural hub in the region. It is also the location of the Mudaba Adin UNJE Institute, one part university another part training ground for future UNJE Elite assets. The first of its kind, there are sister Institutes in Rota Spain, and another in Shanghai China; with a fourth being planned in South America to be completed by hopefully 2036.

The UNJE has announced a new initiative to create a new team of Elites, but have decided to do it through a reality show format, the contest is open to the students at the Institute and in a surprising turn have opened it to Elites around the globe to participate, those that survive, ahem succeed, will be given a chance to sign lucrative contracts to join the new team. All prospective contestants must have no ties to the Pantheon Network, no violent criminals, and be willing to work for the UNJE for the entirety of the contract, lawyers will be on hand for any further explanations.

Being in the contest is not mandatory for the game but will form the central premise of the game but there will be other stories going on, as per my usual games.

GM Note on Pantheon Ties: These are public known ties, if the character maintains secret or clandestine links or even just philosophical leanings that is fine but public actions will be scrutinized and most likely get them pushed out of the contest. The intent is to not limit character ideas, but also show that the Pantheon Network is unpopular with the UNJE and those that support them.
