Is Babble a character you had in mind before the game started? What inspired you to make him?

Were there any aspects of your character you expected to come into play that didn't? Anything that remains hidden that you want to reveal before the next installment?

Is Babble a character you had in mind before the game started? What inspired you to make him?

In games like this, I like playing "underpowered" characters. So, I looked at powers that seemed like they wouldn't be that useful in competition. The Comprehend power made me think of Doug Ramsey, one of the original New Mutants. He was largely considered useless until he was killed off. Once he was brought back, he was augmented in a number of ways. Babble was largely inspired by him, with a few of my own twists using the Communicate power. I added a couple of things to give him minimal combat capability, but left a lot of room for him to grow.

What surprised you the most this game?

Expertise: Computers was intended as a student thing, which is why Technology started fairly low. I was planning to use body language as a means for him to gain more fighting ability throughout the game. The hardsuit encounter changed that.

Were there any aspects of your character you expected to come into play that didn't? Anything that remains hidden that you want to reveal before the next installment?

I didn't do much with body language and I never spoke with plants. I was also considering Comprehend objects for a forensics type of thing.

Where will Babble go next?

He took a position with Dr Patel before he was blacklisted, which puts him in an odd position. He'll keep working with the UNJE, even if it isn't how he wanted to. But, he'll also stay in communication with Cardinal.

Have you been imagining alternate universe versions of yourself? If so, what did you picture?

[Babble]

I think in most worlds he would be Rosetta, an online entity that provides support to heroes. Those are the versions that didn't feel the need to be a hero and defend people directly.

There are many other ways he could be a hero or villain, though.

Anything you wish we explored or wanted to do?

[Babble]

I wanted to do the body language martial arts stuff, but I was happy to do all of the tech stuff instead. I do wish I had completed the suit sooner, but I also wanted that to feel like a difficult project.
