Timeline mirrors our world up to the divergence point of 2012 CE.

2012 CE

In January astronomers discover Bradley’s Comet, an unknown celestial object that is approaching the inner solar system and would be visible with the naked eye in July of the same year. On the 17th of July Bradley’s comet blossomed across the sky and was visible till August 2nd of the same year. The world witnesses the beautiful purple tail of the celestial object.

In October astronomers are baffled at the complete disappearance of the comet, it is suspected that the celestial object may have approached too close to the sun and was torn apart. Others claim that the comet was not a comet but an artificial object and changed course, but no evidence to support this claim was ever brought forth.

2013 CE

The first acknowledged Emergence came about on January 4th by Ishaan Gupta, now known as the Indian based Elite, Mighty Raaja. Mighty Raaja emerged during what could have been a horrific train crash but their intervention saved many lives that day. It was a chaotic few days after that as other started to Emerge around the world but Mighty Raaja is recognized as the first public Emergence.

Tensions around the globe were rising as China made aggressive actions to access vital water sources from their neighbors and diplomatic relations between the DPRK and South Korea began to break down. Many suspect the newly established government of the Democratic Congo Protectorate (DCP) were furnishing powerful weapons to the rogue nation.

By August of that year, it was revealed that the current leader of the DCP was one of these new Emergent super humans blessed with supreme intelligence apparently. Then in the following month the first strike of what would become the Chinese-American War first fought through proxies of North and South Korea and then brought in China and Russia against the United States, Japan, and NATO nations.

2014 to 2016 CE

By the middle of 2014 the fighting was intense across the east Asian front, the devastation was incredible and there were fears that the conflict would become a nuclear confrontation, already millions were either dead and tens of millions were displaced and many of these displaced peoples would end up in Africa and Europe. By the end of the war in 2016 it is estimated that some forty million people would be displaced and approximately eight million people were killed, the bulk of which were civilians. The conflict was brought to a halt by the actions of Justice Elite dismantling the North Korean government in just twenty-four hours. While some Elites did see combat, this was one of the first times they were used to such effectiveness. This brought about a cease fire and after tense negotiations by the end of 2016 the war officially ended.

The Beijing earthquake of 2015 was one of the more horrific natural disasters, the disaster was said to have had minimal impact on the Chinese state but outside estimates say hundreds of billions of dollars of damage and upwards fifty thousand lives were lost during the event. But the truth may never be known.

2017 CE to 2024 CE

The aftermath of the Chinese-American War brought great changes to the world stage, both the United States and China were recovering from the conflict and both had to make reparations for the atrocities committed during the conflict which was highly unpopular and would start an era of isolation for the United States and economic turmoil for China and Russia. To fill the power vacuum both the European Union and the African Union bolstered by the UNJE enacted several grand projects around the world to aid recovery and bring about a brighter future. The terraforming of the Sahara, the regeneration of the oceans, and the first Lunar colony were some of the great achievements in this era.

This was also the start of the cold war between the African Union and the Democratic Congo Protectorate, or DCP, the African state was a totalitarian government that was probably one of the most advanced on the planet. This is due to their president, Mugambe Kabongo a recognized Elite with super intellect and a Mechanical and Computer Engineering background. The state was nominally a democracy but more of an autocratic technocracy and isolated itself from the rest of the world, thus it was mostly an African Union issue.

2025 CE to 2028 CE

The Lunar colony, now named Camp Armstrong, was pronounced a semi-autonomous state at the start of 2025 and even given a seat at the United Nations, the nascent state provided raw materials and tourism for the new world post war. By 2032, there would be about four thousand permanent citizens on the moon with a transient population approaching nearly double that number.

In the fall of 2026 the Mudaba Adin UNJE Institute was brought online, the model would prove successful and other smaller Institutes were brought online in the following years to great success. While Elites would be banned from the Olympics, Elites athletes were able to compete in the Elite Fighting League, or EFL, that was established in the summer of 2028 and has only grown in popularity.

2029 CE

The Mexico City Event occurs early in the morning of October 8th, it would be perhaps one of the most horrific and devastating events in human history as the entire city of Mexico City and the surrounding region were erased from the surface. Nearly thirty five million were erased in seconds, a bright flash that left behind scorched earth and glass.

The event nearly started a fourth war before a common enemy was found in the rogue state of the DCP and its President. The AU was able to push the UN to authorize a strike by the Justice Elite to bring the rogue state to heel. This would take the combined might of all three UNJE teams, several AU and EU nations deploying their military and several mercenary Elites to bring the President down.

This is known as the 72 Hour Crisis, before the President was killed and the government was ousted. Several Elite combatants died in the fighting but baseline loss of life was low due to usage of remote drone units being used in lieu of baseline soldiers.

2030 CE to 2032 CE

The Congo Free State was established but the AU and UN overestimated the popularity of President Mugambe Kabongo and the state is plagued with corruption, resistance fighters, and outright terror groups striking back at peace keepers. Much of the high tech weaponry and technology has gone missing attributed to high ranking officers and successor groups going underground, including the formation of the group, Mokele Mbembe, considered a terror group by the Un and associated member nations.

Despite the turmoil in the Congo region the world at large is peaceful and recovering from the Chinese-American War. The United States has emerged from their self-imposed isolation to a very different world and they are not the de facto leader. The Mexico City Event brought the two nations closer, as the United States came to the aid of the Mexican state.

The UNJE brought in a great deal of support as well but as of 2032, there are still many questions about the Mexico City Event, even though the accepted explanation is a super weapon deployed by the DCP, perhaps a test that got out of control and justified the destruction of the state.

The game will open in the fall of 2032 with the announcement of Elite Academy, a contest for Elites to join the newest UNJE team.
