Local Cuisine

Post by Dapper Dog »

It should go without saying that Ethiopian food dominates the eateries in Mudaba Adin, which means foods that adhere to the typical diet of the locals which means lots of injera, bread, stews, and spiced meats. Pasta is another staple eaten along with spiced vegetables, typically the injera is used to eat the meal. Despite the modern trappings of the city open air markets are still quite common across the city and buying fresh ingredients is quite easy and affordable.

Vegetarian eateries are quite common across the region and are seen as quite normal, from chill restaurants to street food it’s easy to find. With that said, when it comes to meat, most types are easily found though pork and to a lesser extent shellfish can be difficult but not impossible. Usually reserved for more upscale eateries or places that cater more to tourists than locals. Over the last ten years more international chains and eateries have entered the region so finding cuisine from other regions and cultures is quite easy and delivery is very common.

Food on the campus is a variety of foods, but local food types tend to dominate but the cafeteria can create a variety of recipes, and the kitchen drones and ADINA are always aware of any special needs or dietary concerns for the students.

Long story short, lots of awesome foods, so have fun and enjoy.
