Some Elites claim to have access to Magic, or they are powered by ancient Gods or descended from supernatural entities. Some claim they can access the dead and summon ghosts or create “zombies”. These claims have proven to be… either false or not able to verify with any real veracity.

The UNJE and by extension most academics consider claims of magic to simply be a sub conscious manifestation of the Elite’s abilities. They frame their powers through the lens of magic, but it isn’t any different from an elite that can just generate fire, or melt flesh with a look. They simply perceive their understanding through the guise of magic or similar effects.

All claims of contact with the dead or otherworldly spirits have proven false, more so with contact with the dead. These manifestations are considered to be created by the Elite and given a semblance of life through their abilities but are not what they claim to be. They are not ghosts, demons, or other worldly spirits, at least according to the scientists that have looked into these matters. Still people persist in the idea that some Elites can access the other realms and talk with the dead.

There are some Elites that claim to have been granted their abilities through a powerful item or relic, in all cases the relic has proven to be a focus for these Elites. Perhaps a subconscious or mental block that makes the Elite believe their powers comes from the object.

Now it should be noted that all of these positions are the prevailing stance and view of the UNJE and governments, but some do see things differently and religious groups have no singular view on these matters. The debate rages on.
